Virtually a killer

A tag line of the movie “Hollow Man” was “What would you do if you knew you couldn’t be seen?” We didn’t have to wait for science to invent a way… technology did it much sooner! Online personas, avatars, anonymity, isolation, all are like “still water to mosquito breeding” for those who’ve had it with only one concurrent life. They want another, or many others… right now. So almost 9 million people have chosen to lead at least a Second Life, virtually (unless it’s one super-crazy super-genius person leading all 9M… in which case can someone please find him/her and give honorary employment at Toronto city that is facing serious budget cuts).

The educational value of this concept is immense! Guys can perfect their pick up lines; drivers using their knees to steer while texting and eating cereal can know who they can run over without feeling guilty; parents can determine exactly what issues they’d like their children to have as adults; people can try out marriages to various people and have no obligation or commitment (oh wait… showbiz world already has that feature); and humans can determine exactly how to re-earn their “social animal” title by avoiding their friends/ family and building online social circles. All completely without guilt or consequence. Brilliant!!!

  1. You really fascinate to eat cereal while driving ? haha.

  2. Let’s just say it wouldn’t have occurred to me if I hadn’t heard it! 🙂

  3. How can one eat cereals while driving ? You mean dry cereals ? Not with milk ? 😦 Man I can not eat while sitting on my table. I will try that now.

  4. With milk. And I wouldn’t recommend it, for your sake as well as for others on the road 🙂
